BUSINESS JOURNAL’S 40 UNDER 40 LIST HONORS JOSEPH MIKITISH
Assistant Attorney General and Top Valley Disability Advocate Recognized

March 28, 2002, PHOENIX, AZ – The Phoenix Business Journal has named Assistant Arizona Attorney General and disability advocate Joseph Mikitsh to their 2002 annual 40 under 40 list. Known for recognizing up-and-coming Valley leaders under age 40, the Business Journal honored Mikitsh for both his professional work in the Attorney General’s office, as well as his involvement with community groups including Arizona Bridge to Independent Living (ABIL).

“By honoring Joe, the Business Journal has recognized the inherent value of community service and volunteerism,” said Phil Pangrazio, ABIL executive director. “Joe is a person with a disability who has excelled both in his professional life and in numerous non-profit and community-based organizations. Joe’s efforts on our Board of Directors have helped us accomplish some important goals and build a stronger organization.”

Established in 1981, ABIL advocates personal responsibility – by, and for, people with disabilities – as a means to independence. To help consumers achieve self-sufficiency, ABIL offers comprehensive programs including independent living skills instruction; home modification; advocacy; ADA training and counsel; early intervention for newly disabled individuals; peer mentoring; employment services; Social Security work incentives; youth transition programs; personal assistance services and social recreational programs.
