FEDERAL PROGRAM HANDS OUT ARIZONA ‘TICKETS’ TO WORK

Arizona Rep. J.D. Hayworth and Social Security Administration Commissioner Jo Anne Barnhart greet Susan Webb, employment services director for Arizona Bridge to Independent Living (ABIL) during an April 1, 2002 news conference. Barnhart and Hayworth presented “tickets” to two of the approximate 129,000 Arizonans that qualify under the federal “Ticket to Work” program, designed to assist Social Security Disability recipients in accessing a wider range of vocational, rehabilitation and employment services. Arizona is one of 13 states chosen to launch the program.
